While research into medical cannabis is still limited due to restrictions preventing scientists from obtaining the drug, recent studies have explored some therapeutic aspects of medical marijuana. For example, a 2015 study found that cannabis could be effective in treating schizophrenia. Research has also shown that it can help heal broken bones , stop severe seizures , and even cure migraines. And one 2014 study suggested that cannabis might be effective in targeting brain tumors, though far more research is needed to replicate those results.
The Roman Catholic cathedral of St. Joseph is an important historical building located in the Baghani area of Stone Town, Zanzibar. It was built by French missionaries between 1893 and 1898, and the plans were drawn by the same French architect who designed the cathedral in Marseilles, France. The defining characteristic of the cathedral are its twin spires (similar to those of Marseille’s church) which are prominent elements of the Stone Town’s skyline and can be easily spotted from a distance off the coast. Despite these prominent spires, the church itself can prove difficult to find while walking the narrow streets of Baghani.
Warrior arrived on the Western Front on 11 August 1914 with General Jack Seely (who later became Lord Mottistone) and remained on the front line throughout the war.
They saw action on the first day of the Battle of the Somme in 1916. Warrior was dug out of the mud of Passchendaele and twice trapped under the burning beams of his stables. Many times he charged towards the enemy, only to witness the men and his fellow cavalry horses cut down by gunfire and shells.
According to records, Warrior displayed gallantry above and beyond the call of duty. He was an inspiration to the soldiers as they faced their greatest fears in the battle against bayonets, bullets, gas and tanks.
Despite sustaining several injuries, Warrior survived and returned home to the Isle of Wight in 1918, where he lived with the Seely family until his death aged 33.
